And the creative influence of Bolivian artist Mario Sarabia — another reminder of the remarkable artistic spirit found throughout this country.
From the silence of the Salar de Uyuni to the vibrant energy of La Paz, Bolivia has captured my imagination in ways I never anticipated.

**From First Light to Last Light | Bolivia 🇧🇴**
Yesterday, I shared 31 seconds of the seemingly endless Salar de Uyuni. Today, I invite you to look a little closer.
Our journey began with the first golden light of sunrise in Chituca, before crossing one of the most extraordinary landscapes on Earth toward Jirira.
Along the way, weathered doorways opened onto vast horizons, intricate geometric patterns stretched across the salt, and towering cacti stood like ancient guardians over this remarkable landscape.
As the day surrendered to evening, the final light painted the sky above the salt flats in shades of blue, amber, and gold.
Five photographs. One extraordinary journey. A reminder that sometimes the most remarkable discoveries are found between destinations.

Sometimes, the greatest challenge in photography is conveying the sheer scale of what lies before you.
Our journey continues from Chituca to Jirira, across one of the most extraordinary landscapes on Earth.

93 Countries. 7 Continents. One Extraordinary World. 🌎📸
Standing here in the remote highlands of Bolivia, at 16,120 feet above sea level, I find myself taking a moment to reflect.
Bolivia marks the 93rd country I have had the privilege of exploring through the lens of my camera.
What began as a passion for photography has become a lifelong journey of discovery — across continents, through extraordinary landscapes, and into the lives and cultures of people whose paths I might otherwise never have crossed.
Along the way, I have learned that photography is about so much more than capturing a beautiful image. It is about curiosity, patience, understanding, and recognizing the extraordinary beauty of the world in which we all share an existence.
From the frozen wilderness of Antarctica to the deserts of Africa, the mountains of Asia, the rainforests of South America, and countless places in between, every journey has left its mark on me.
But today, more than anything, I want to thank you.
To everyone who has followed my travels, encouraged my photography, shared a kind word, or simply taken a moment to see the world through my eyes — thank you for being part of this remarkable journey.
There is still so much to discover, so many stories to tell, and so many photographs waiting to be made.

**A Moment of Stillness | The Anatomy of a Flamingo**
Four James`s flamingos resting in the high-altitude waters of Chile`s Atacama Desert.
Have you ever noticed how a flamingo`s knee appears to bend backward?
Here`s the fascinating part: **That`s not its knee. It`s its ankle!**
The actual knee is much higher, close to the body, hidden beneath the feathers. That prominent backward-bending joint is the ankle.
And there`s more.
🦩 Flamingos often sleep standing on one leg, even in shallow water. This remarkable posture helps conserve body heat and requires surprisingly little muscular effort.
🌊 Resting in water may also offer some protection from land predators, while the birds can remain alert to danger.
🦩 They can even shift from one leg to the other while resting, sometimes without fully waking.
Four birds. Four extraordinary examples of nature`s engineering.
Sometimes the most fascinating part of a photograph is what we discover when we look closer.

Beneath a Thousand Stars ✨🌌
Atacama Desert, Chile 🇨🇱
Somewhere beneath one of the darkest skies on Earth, I found myself surrounded by silence, ancient desert trees, and a universe filled with stars.
The faint Milky Way stretched across the night, with what may have been a passing meteor leaving its brief signature in the darkness.
No sounds. No distractions. Just the desert, the stars, and a reminder of how extraordinary our planet truly is.
After 90 countries and seven continents, I am still discovering moments that leave me speechless.
Sometimes the most meaningful journeys happen when we simply look up.
